The MTN Sciencentre is passionate about developing educators and their scientific skills. We run various enrichment workshops and programmes for educators. See below for more information:
1. Science Educators Monthly Forum
A new programme where educators meet at the Sciencentre to
share ideas, lesson plans and tips on teaching difficult science
concepts. We will have such a gathering each month, based on the
meetings of the old SAATPS Organisation.
The first of these
forums was held on the 27 February 2010 and included an opening
address by Mr. Don Francis of the Western Cape Education Department.

3. Maths, Science and Technology Industrial Teachers Tour
This tour of the industries of the Western Cape is aimed at engaging educators in the real-life industrial applications of the science, biology and technology content that they teach in their classrooms. During 2009 it was held between 27 September and 3 October and the educators were taken to the Chevron Refinery, Koeberg Power Station, Ysterplaat Airforce Base, Hermanus Magnetic Observatory, amongst others scientifically interesting places.
