MTN SCIENCENTRE SCOOPS AWARD FOR BEST CURRICULUM WORKSHOP AT SASOL TECHNO X
20 August 2010
The MTN Sciencentre once again walked away with the award for the best curriculum-based workshop at the Sasol Techno X science festival this year. Michael Ellis, MTN Sciencentre Educator, presented the ENGAGING IN ELECTROCHEMISTRY workshop to 120 high school learners during the week-long festival in Sasolburg, and was awarded the accolade by the festival organisers at the prizegiving ceremony on Thursday evening. The MTN Sciencentre team also presented ROCKET SCIENCE, an interactive show exploring the ups and downs of launching rockets, as well as CAPTIVATING CAPACITORS, a hands-on workshop for learners. More than 6000 learners visited the MTN Sciencentre's exhibition area, where they were challenged to think about how science relates to everything we do. Learners left the festival excited and inspired. Well done to Michael and the rest of the team!
